JONESTOWN, Pa. (September 6, 2022) - The last result was certainly the best for Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing, capping the Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Washington, with a top-ten performance in the $26,000-to-win weekend finale on Saturday, September 3. The “Jonestown Jet” finished ninth in this top-ten appearances, trumping back-to-back 15th-place outcomes in preliminary starts on Thursday and Friday.
Although unable to continue his top-ten stretch during his Monday night visit to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington, finishing 17th on a tricky-slick surface, Zearfoss hopes to propel his top-ten momentum from Skagit into the coming weekend, as the Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native is prepared to battle with the best on the West Coast in the Gold Cup Race of Champions.
Still tenth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, Zearfoss now owns 16 top-ten scores on the season, one of which a victory at Cedar Lake Speedway on July 2.
“We love having the opportunity to visit the West Coast, and to score a top-ten in the process is special. We don’t have a lot of laps in this part of the country, but I’m certain our notes will prove vital when we have the opportunity to return in the future,” Zearfoss said. “The Gold Cup Race of Champions is an historic program with lots of prestige. We’re excited to be a part of it and hopefully contend for a win.”
ON DECK:
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their sophomore campaign with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series with the three-day Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California, on September 8-10. Saturday’s Gold Cup finale will award $25,000.
