Brock Zearfoss rallies at Port Royal, finishes second during Sunday night stop at BAPS Motor Speedway
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, Pa. (April 8, 2019) - Apart from a mechanical hiccup suffered at Port Royal Speedway during the final weekend of March, Brock Zearfoss’ sprint car campaign in Central Pennsylvania has been near-flawless in 2019. In fact, the mechanical issue at Port Royal, clogged fuel nozzles being the culprit, resulted in Zearfoss’ only finish outside of the top-ten during competition in Pennsylvania Posse Country.
Zearfoss, driver of the Premier Motorsports/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Meckley's Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/No. 70 sprint car, finished seventh and second during his recent pair of starts, highlighting the weekend with a runner-up performance at BAPS Motor Speedway near York Haven on Sunday, April 7. Zearfoss led a portion of the main event before settling for second, actually taking command from front row starter and eventual winner, Danny Dietrich, on lap eight. Dietrich returned the favor on lap 15 with a slider between turns three and four to regain control.
Impressive enough, Zearfoss kicked off his weekend in Central Pennsylvania with a rally from 16th to finish seventh at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, April 6.
“It’s tough knowing we were that close to getting it done on Sunday. My team deserves to be standing in victory lane. They work their tails off and I certainly appreciate all of their hard work. Our time is coming soon. We are right there,” Brock Zearfoss explained about his performance on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway. “Sometimes being out front is not where you want to be, especially with a guy like Danny Dietrich behind you. I knew we were really good when I got around him, but he was good too and it showed. We’ll take these results and move forward. We have a huge weekend ahead. I’m excited to get our All Star schedule back on track.”
Brock Zearfoss and Premier Motorsports will return to competition on Thursday through Sunday, April 11-14, with an All Star Circuit of Champions quadruple-header throughout areas of Virginia and Pennsylvania. Zearfoss, who will follow the All Star schedule full-time in 2019 seeking Rookie of the Year honors, will follow America’s Series to Virginia Motor Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway, respectively, during the upcoming weekend.
Thursday’s weekend kick off at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Va., will award a $10,000 top prize.
