Zearfoss highlights Labor Day weekend with pair of top-five finishes; Tuscarora 50 next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (September 4, 2018) - Brock Zearfoss’ Labor Day schedule included four starts in four days, chasing the All Star Circuit of Champions throughout the Buckeye State before capping off the weekend in Central Pennsylvania. Despite the chaos, the weekend was a success, earning a trio of top-ten finishes, two of which inside the top-five, and highlighting the weekend with a runner-up finish during the Labor Day Classic at Port Royal Speedway on Monday, September 3. Zearfoss started sixth on the Labor Day Classic grid and led much of the 25-lap program.

Although not an All Star event, the Labor Day Classic finish and lap time was vital as the All Star Circuit of Champions will be visiting the ‘Speed Palace’ on Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8, for the 51st running of the Tuscarora 50. The historic, two-day program will kick-off on Friday with a $5,000-to-win main event, followed by the 51st Tuscarora 50 on Saturday awarding a $51,000 payday; an award that will increase by $1,000 every year.

“It was a solid weekend for this Destiny Motorsports team. I can’t say enough about my crew and what they are capable of doing. They work hard, sometimes with little sleep, and I appreciate their efforts,” Brock Zearfoss explained, driver of the Destiny Motorsports No. 4. “Having a weekend like we did only adds confidence, especially with a runner-up finish at Port Royal Speedway. We will be chasing $51,000 there on Saturday. We’ll take all the confidence and luck we can get.”

Brock Zearfoss kicked-off his Labor Day weekend schedule with a Dirt Classic Ohio doubleheader at Attica Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1. Back-to-back nights of competition resulted in back-to-back top-ten finishes for the ‘Jonestown Jet,’ finishing fourth and tenth, respectively, during the pair of 40-lap, $5,000-to-win, Dirt Classic Ohio main events. Adding to the impressiveness, it was Zearfoss’ first-ever start at the home of ‘Ohio’s Finest Racing.’

Certainly the frustrating point of his Labor Day weekend schedule, Zearfoss was scored 19th on Sunday during the annual Pete Jacobs Memorial at Wayne County Speedway, the result of his involvement in an on-track incident. Like Attica, it was Zearfoss’ first-ever attempt at the Orrville, Ohio, oval.
