Brock Zearfoss earns Knoxville Nationals A-main start during first-ever attempt

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 13, 2018) – Certainly a career achievement for the Jonestown, Pa., native, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss highlighted his first-ever trip west to the Hawkeye State in a big way, ultimately qualifying for the coveted Knoxville Nationals A-main and finishing 19th at the final checkers. Zearfoss, now the full-time pilot for Destiny Motorsports, captured his A-main starting spot in dramatic fashion by earning the fourth and final transfer position in Saturday’s B-main in front of a capacity crowd at Knoxville Raceway.

Zearfoss’ entire Iowa trip resulted in success from start to finish, not only ending his venture on sprint car racing’s biggest stage, but also earning main event starts during Knoxville Nationals preliminary competition, Knoxville’s annual Capitani Classic, and Southern Iowa Speedway’s Front Row Challenge. A tenth place finish during Knoxville Nationals preliminary competition on Wednesday, August 8, set the tone for Zearfoss allowing the former Pennsylvania Posse regular to start fourth in Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals B-main.

The Destiny Motorsports entry crossed the line 14th during Capitani Classic action at Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 5; their first attempt at Knoxville Raceway with Zearfoss in control. The team went on to finish 15th one night later during the $20,000-to-win Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway. Including their Knoxville Nationals preliminary start, Destiny Motorsports was three for three during heat race competition.

“I don’t think anything actually sunk in yet,” Brock Zearfoss explained, driver of the Destiny Motorsports/Mondak Portables/No. 4 sprint car. “To say this team clicked right from the start is an understatment. I think we accomplished everything we set out to do, and more. I can’t thank Rick Rogers enough for this opportunity. I’m more than excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.”

Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports will continue their 2018 campaign with a trip to the Empire State, ready to join the All Star Circuit of Champions during three events in three days at three different facilities. The weekend will begin on Friday, August 17, at Utica-Rome Speedway, followed by a stop at Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday, August 18, only to conclude the weekend further north at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Sunday, August 19. Prior to joining Destiny Motorsports, Zearfoss’ All Star experience has been suttle in 2018, earning a pair of top-ten finishes in six feature starts.
